IP Address
If your IP address does not begin with 137.219... then you will need to authenticate via Remote Access, using your JCU login and password, before selecting a database or ejournal. Once authenticated, you can check if your remote access session is still active at any time by looking to see if "elibrary" appears within the URL/ location field. Some databases and ejournals require a special password (Eg. FirstSearch). Check the entry on the Databases or eJournals page to find out if this is the case.
Pop-Up Windows
A Pop-Up is a window that opens automatically when you click on a link or visit/leave a webpage. A pop-up blocker is a feature of a web browser (or one of its plugins) that blocks unwanted pop-up windows. New browsers, such as Firefox, IE 6, and Opera 8, do not allow pop-up windows to appear by default. This can cause problems in some JCU applications, such as JCU Workflow, as they rely on pop-up windows to function properly. See InfoHelp's Pop-up Windows guide on how to detect if your browser is automatically blocking pop-ups and change your browser settings to always allow pop-up windows from JCU websites
Screen Resolution
The JCU website is best displayed at a screen resolution of 1024 x 768, and also works at 800 x 600 pixels. To change your screen settings follow the steps below.
