Master of Business Administration (Managerial Accounting)
Business Administration provides responsible managers and business owner's practical skills underpinned by cutting edge theory enabling them to make a difference, and equipping them for success in the twenty-first century.
The Master of Business Administration with major in Managerial Accounting uses core knowledge from the academic disciplines of business, law, psychology, technology, social science and humanities to explore key areas confronting modern managers and organisations.
The Managerial Accounting major focuses on the use of accounting information by managers of organisations. Students will gain an understanding of the main financial statements produced by an accounting system and the processes by which these are developed. Topics range from basic managerial accounting concepts to more complex issues of using accounting information systems for budgeting, profit planning, performance and control, within a variety of organisational structures. The impacts of technology on business processes and business transactions are explored.
Students will gain specialist management accounting knowledge, and will come to appreciate that accounting reports hold a wealth of information that can be used by a smart manager to fulfil organisational and individual goals, both financially and strategically.
