Work-Integrated Learning

Work-integrated learning (WIL) refers to 'a range of approaches and strategies that integrate theory with the practice of work within a purposefully designed curriculum' (Patrick, C-J. et al., 2009). WIL means you learn through experience.

James Cook University Brisbane has established itself as a leader in WIL by extending to all of its students, the opportunity to learn in ways which are linked to the real world of business.

WIL at JCU Brisbane is maximised through using a range of activities and experiences to expose you to a variety of authentic workplace situations.   These can be anything from a professional internship or working in a group on a community project through to visiting an Australian business or having business professionals work with you in the classroom.

There are specific subjects which fully engage you in work place learning.
