John-Paul Langbroek Leader of the LNP

John-Paul Langbroek is the Leader of the Opposition, Leader of the LNP, Shadow Minister for the Arts and the Member for Surfers Paradise.
Born in the Netherlands, John-Paul and his family migrated to Queensland when he was only a few months old. As the son of a school teacher, he spent his childhood travelling throughout regional Queensland before settling in Brisbane. After graduating from Sunnybank High, John-Paul studied dentistry at the University of Queensland.
As a small businessman and health practitioner, it was a strong sense of civic duty which led John-Paul has held numerous shadow ministerial portolios including Health, Education, Arts, Police and Corrective Services, Public Works and Housing, Employment and Training, Natural Resources, Mines and Energy. He has been a strong advocate in Parliament for improving the st andard of Queensland's State Government.
Before joining the QRC in 2005, Michael spent nearly nine years with the Australian Stock Exchange in Sydney, including six years on ASX's Executive Committee as the Executive General Manager.
Michael also has extensive experience in the government sector, including nine years in Canberra with most of that time as a senior executive in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.
In 1990, Michael served for five years as Chief of Staff to the Queensland Treasurer and nearly two years as Deputy Director-General in the Queensland Cabinet Office as part of the Premier's Portfolio.
