From Mr Average to Mr Successful

Shahab is a self confessed "average" student, he admits he is "nothing special" yet through his determination to complete his studies, his willingness to undertake 12 weeks unpaid work experience, and his attitude and friendly nature, that landed him his first professional job in Australia, and what a job it is.

Shahab is now a Software Engineer with Mincom, and he couldn't be happier.

This testimonial is about sharing my experience during and after completion of my course at James Cook University Brisbane.  James Cook University has an extremely qualified team, which includes both teaching and non-teaching staff.

I am an average student, nothing exceptional. The staff kept us motivated during the course; they were all very friendly and flexible.

It was a joyful experience at James Cook University Brisbane. 

James Cook University has a student  recruitment service called Joblinx, which is managed by extremely professional and experienced staff; they advised us and kept us up to date with job opportunities on a regular basis.

Wherever there was room for improvement, we were notified. I was placed at MINCOM in a 12-week work experience program (Head Start Pro) as a Software Engineer.

Mincom is the market leader in asset management software. I am now a full time employee at MINCOM, currently working on Ellipse 8.2, the latest product of Mincom.  I work on many technologies, for instance Java, Flex,Oracle, Cloud Computing and much more.

 I am really grateful to the entire staff of James Cook University Brisbane.
