It is vital that you get off to a good start. That way you will be fully equipped to excel in your chosen program and understand what will be expected of you as a student. At the same time you'll be able to familiarise yourself with the new surroundings and make some friends along the way.
It is highly recommended that you arrive in time for Registration and Orientation Week so you can take part in the compulsory workshops.
These workshops will show you how to navigate the JCU and JCU Brisbane websites. Here you will be able to access your course materials and communicate with your lecturers and obtain useful resources and research materials that will assist you in your studies.
Other workshops include tips on managing your time effectively and avoiding plagiarism.
Important information such as your health insurance, personal wellbeing, safety, and public transport will also be covered during Registration. We also provide a free lunch where you can meet the Dean, staff and members of the student council.
